Inspired...

So everything is a bit overgrown... I hoping to eventually have enough energy to take the weedwacker to some of the icky grass in the back yard.

My friend 'E' sent me pictures of her garden vegetables from last year and this morning all I could think of is I want to plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash. So this afternoon after my daily porcelain god worship session, I started pulling up plants that have gone beyond the flowering stage to ready my raised beds for new plantings. I think it would be super cool to have fresh tomatoes and cucumbers available from my own garden while I'm home with my kiddo this summer. I also did a little weeding...

This is before I started pulling stuff that is no longer edible up. Well, it could be edible just not willing to try it...

I miss gardening. It was so nice to work in the yard today even though I couldn't do it for too long. There is just something to the kind of satisfaction one gets from physical work that you get instant results from. I wanted to be ruthless and pull up everything in the raised beds, but there are still quite a few edible vegetables even though I still can't handle hardy greens. I think I even have a beet finally growing. I planted a few that never came up. My brussel sprouts are finally growing too.

After some work this morning my raised bed look much neater, but they still need a lot of work before I can purchase seeds and transplants...

  1. Glad my departure and the end of a hectic week inspired some healthy activity. I almost wanted to jump in and help. Crazy, right?

  2. I'm jealous at how green everything is. I'm ready for summer (spring is just the season of melting)
