I've got plants!

I made this bed just before it rained on Friday. I marked off the boundary with the ligustrum and crepe myrtle branches. Poured an inch of compost, raked the compost evenly over it then spread some buckwheat and the pea seeds I bought. Found out it was too late in the season for those and got some vetch and clover. Read more about cover crops and got a garden weasel to work the compost in the soil and raked in  clover and vetch.  I don't know which of those is growing or if all of them are, but it is super cool to see them sprouting up from the ground. I want to jump up and down yelling "I did it, I did it!" It is so exciting especially since I kept thinking nothing would grow with all random things I did.

It doesn't even matter that the other spot I seeded didn't grow much of anything, but a few sprouts not more than 10. I suspect I put too much compost in that area. I also didn't use the garden weasel to break up the earth and mix the compost. I think I will do that this week and add more seed and water to see if I can get more stuff to grow.  Whohoo, things I planted are growing in my yard!
